STIMULUS MONIES TO BE PAID BACK
GLENDALE, CA - Cranbrook Realty Corp and Broker Associate, J.P. John Perron cleared the air regarding a news conference held in Glendale, CA this week, where Senatorial candidate Carly Fiorina used the New Horizons Family Center property as a backdrop to her complaints about the “ridiculous waste of taxpayers’ money.”
“As the listing brokerage representing the sale of the New Horizons Family Center’s property on Maryland Avenue in the City of Glendale, Cranbrook Realty Corp has been instructed by Maria Rochart, Executive Director of the Center, to have all of the taxpayer stimulus funds returned upon the sale of the property,” stated Perron. “With the current state of the economy, I have been approached by numerous non-profit organizations to assess their viability and ability to continue to hold real estate. I have also been asked to assess the options available, if any, to many of these organizations to allow them to continue to provide their respective local communities with much needed services,” continued Perron. “In the case of New Horizons, the fact that this stimulus money will be paid back exemplifies the spirit of the organization and reflects favorably on the merit of the Center and the original decision to support and fund this project. This will have a good ending and those involved can hold their heads high,” he added.
Cranbrook Realty Corp, a recognized name in the Glendale community, has built its reputation on supporting grassroots programs at the local level. “When economic factors result in a change of plans, doing the right thing is always for the better good. This group did not hesitate when they informed me that they would do just that. Maria Rochart and New Horizons Family Center have kept the plans and permits for this redevelopment in place and the best outcome would be for a similar organization coming in and fulfilling the promise of improving our community. After all, the Center was established to assist deserving children and the expansion project was commenced to enhance the existing programs. At Cranbrook, we are privileged to help our city and our neighbors in any way we can. Regardless, our marching orders are ‘pay back the money’ - bottom line,” Perron concluded.
New Horizons Family Center, Glendale, CA 91205, provides child care, counseling services, and domestic violence services for adults and youth in Los Angeles County and serves low-income and immigrant families participating in their Even Start Family Literacy Program that focuses on the development of the children and their families.
Cranbrook Realty Corp is a California Real Estate brokerage and has personally represented Fortune 500 companies, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITS), lending institutions, and high net worth individuals in the development, acquisition, and disposition of various types of properties that have exceeded $700,000,000 in Southern and Northern California.
